Oh how harsh the sleepless nights felt while I awaited the latest effort to come out of the Punk Goes series. While some have labeled some of the releases done (such as Punk Goes Crunk, Punk Goes Metal, etc) as mockeries of the originals, I have instead cherished each and every one of them. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and with the lines blurring between things such as rock and rap and rock and metal, these covers albums are swooping in a perfect time to be enjoyed. Case in point, Punk Goes Pop 2, which has been on my most anticipated list for 2009 ever since it was thought up back in 2008. And the fact that many preorders contained a double offer for Punk Goes Pop Vol. 1, it made the deal all that much sweeter to want to pick this up. read more
