A Wilhelm Scream has posted the video for their song “Australias” online. The video was directed by Alex Gorosh and the track is from the groups new self-titled EP which is out now through Paper + Plastick Records. You can watch the video below.

AHHHHH, A Wilhelm Scream eh? Thought it might be horror related especially with saw blade cover, but was misled by a cover once again. Well melodic punk isn’t a bad trade off is it? Find it funny the band has been around since ’96 and I have yet to hear them; that changes now with their latest self titled EP. If the band still went by Adam’s Crack I am sure I would have heard of them sooner, but that is beside the point. Five songs under twenty minutes, seems pretty standard, right? The opening riff off Australias catches my attention quick as I tap my foot to the beat, just a good overall jam. Then I am thrown off by the title of the second track, Every Great Movie Has a Shower Scene, I don’t think that holds true especially with my tastes; none the less a crunchy opening riff and sweet sounding guitars draw me in once again. Than there is Fun Time, slower tempo and it put me to sleep, so perhaps not the best choice of title the only fun part about it was the “Whoa Whoa,” reminding me of 311’s Amber. Overall, Fun Time is the only real miss on the album, but this isn’t my type of album I would usually go after something less melodic and with a little more angst, but I must admit the guitars are sweet, wish their was some less focus on the vocal’s but other than my minor gripe it’s pretty good ep grabs my attention but doesn’t blow my mind. ~James Terry

Tour By Streetlight

Streetlight Manifesto have announced a Winter 2009 Tour that kicks off January 1st in San Diego and circles around the U.S., wrapping up on February 14th in Tucson, AZ.
