Get Destroyed – Burnt Offerings 7” – Mini Review

By James Terry  //  Music Reviews  //  No Comments

Release Date: 2010
Record Label: Give Praise Records
Genre: Hardcore

Get Destroyed, a band who’s sound truly is a proper representation of the name. The bands latest effort entitled Burnt Offerings, which was put out as cooperative effort of four labels, I got my copy through Give Praise Records. From the start of side A the thick, dark, and hardcore sounds hits you like major league fastball before adopting a sludgy slow-mid pace melody than hitting the gas once again. A diverse offering with vocalist Ben spewing raw vocal’s that are simply sick to say the least. The flow on side A is perfect the songs lead into one another with each song being as strong as the last yet providing something a little different. The flipside of this seven provides three more straight forward brutal jams, with the first two tracks being short and sweet but the closer “Act Exact,” starts off slow before blindsiding you with a fit of fury. This seven is a must have for anyone into fastcore or hardcore it slays. Only thing that will piss you off aside from the tracks making you want to bulldoze anyone around you, is that its not an Lp so you’ll have to get off your ass to flip the record or restart the side more often, and believe me you’ll be playing this record quite often if you get your hands on it. ~James Terry
