Gwar has given the world twenty five years of slime, killing, and hands down the best live act in metal. Now with twenty five years under their belt and being recently resigned with Metal Blade Records, Gwar has put together their best effort since War Party, which is titled Lust in Space and is due out August 18th. Thrice – Beggars – Review
Release Date: September 15th, 2009
Record Label: Vagrant Records
Genre: Experimental Rock
This album and this review have been hanging over my head for a while now. As I waited and watched for news about a new Thrice record preparing to come out, I took a look back at their previous works. Such a volatile and ever changing past has seen the band transverse several genres, revitalizing them as they went along. From hardcore, to post-hardcore, to almost folk, and beyond, Thrice has proven the need for evolution, even if many of their former fan base just couldn’t make the transition over from record to record. Personally, I had to come to grips with the fact I won’t see Illusion Of Safety-era (my favorite record) Thrice ever again. Once you are able to overcome that block in your mind, you will be able to freely enjoy all their records to come. read more
